Meta has signed celebs for voice AI and Google hired talent from Character.AI, possibly hinting at the push for the next big thing.
After generative AI chatbots, AI avatars, personas, likenesses, and voices might be the next big thing. Meta is courting celebrities such as Judy Dench, Keegan-Michael Key, and Awkwafina. The company is reportedly paying these Hollywood celebs and influencers millions of dollars to license their voice for AI projects. The project is currently confidential.
Bloomberg first reported this and mentioned that Meta declined to comment.
Connect 2024, Meta’s annual conference, will be happening on September 25-26. It’s very likely that a host of AI-related innovations will be revealed in the conference. This news comes after another similar Meta project, now abandoned, where people such as Mr Beast, Tom Brady, Snoop Dog, and Paris Hilton were filmed and text-based chatbots inspired by them were released to the public online.
