In a bid to consolidate different AI capabilities spread across its various products and projects including Microsoft 365, GitHub, Bing, and Edge, Microsoft elaborated on the Copilot app—A single experience aimed to be your one-stop assistant with solutions.
In the official blog post, the company pushed Copilot as an app that can provide better assistance with privacy and security at the forefront.
Essentially, the Copilot app will be a seamless experience (will slide in from the right) and provide you with various capabilities across Windows products. Capabilities and connections, like integrations, will be continually added to Copilot across to the most-used applications over time.
The Windows 11 update bundled with the initial form of Copilot has commenced to roll out on September 26 and has 150+ new features. The one-click slide-in of Copilot is integrated with Microsoft 365, Edge, Bing, Paint, Photos, and Clipchamp, among others.
Bing also added support for the latest DALL.E 3 model from OpenAI for more personalized answers based on your search history, a better AI-powered shopping experience, and more.
With these new updates, Microsoft has also improved various inbuilt apps for a better experience such as new ways to capture content with Snipping Tool and automatic saving in Notepad.
Among AI updates, it includes:
- Photos app can now edit photos with various AI-enabled capabilities.
- Paint can do better drawing and digital creation with generative AI.
- Clipchamp has been improved with auto-compose to provide scene suggestions.
- Bing and Edge will provide more personalized answers and a better shopping experience.
